Claude Cowork Finance Plugins
Anthropic publishes open-source financial services plugins for Cowork (and Claude Code): a core financial analysis plugin plus role-focused add-ons for investment banking, equity research, private equity, and wealth management—installable from a public GitHub marketplace.
This page summarizes what official Anthropic materials describe. It is not financial advice. AI-generated models, memos, and recommendations must be reviewed by a qualified professional before any decision.
What shipped (verified)
According to Anthropic’s Cowork and plugins for finance post (February 24, 2026) and the financial services plugins install docs:
- Five Anthropic-built plugins live in the public anthropics/financial-services repository.
- Partner plugins (e.g. LSEG, S&P Global) appear in the same repository; institutional MCP connectors such as FactSet and MSCI are described for settings/admin enablement.
- Claude working across Excel and PowerPoint for multi-step finance tasks is described as a research preview for paid plans on Mac and Windows (via Claude add-ins)—confirm current availability in product.
Vertical plugins
| Plugin | Role focus (from official docs) |
|---|---|
| Financial analysis (core) | Shared modeling and research baseline; install first. Docs list comps, DCF, LBO, 3-statement work and shared MCP connectors. |
| Investment banking | Deal workflows: transaction docs, comps, pitch materials; CIMs/teasers and related deal process help. |
| Equity research | Earnings updates, coverage-style notes, catalysts, idea screening. |
| Private equity | Deal sourcing/diligence, IC-oriented drafts, portfolio KPI monitoring. |
| Wealth management | Client prep, planning/rebalancing-oriented workflows, tax-loss harvesting style tasks. |
Treat the table as a map of published plugin intent, not a guarantee of every slash command or data feed in your workspace.
Install via marketplace (official pattern)
From Anthropic’s FSI plugins documentation:
- Open Claude Desktop → Cowork.
- Open Customize → Browse plugins.
- Under Personal, use + → Add marketplace from GitHub.
- Enter
https://github.com/anthropics/financial-services. - Install financial analysis first, then any role add-ons you need.
- Skills activate when relevant, or invoke them with
// the + control during a session.
Enterprise workspaces may also add Anthropic-curated marketplaces (including Financial Services) from admin/plugin settings—see Use plugins in Claude.
Partner connectors and entitlements
Official docs are explicit: access to third-party financial data connectors may require a separate subscription or API key from the provider. Partner plugins such as LSEG are described as available to users with active data entitlements. Admins authorize connections in Claude settings and can bundle them into plugins for teams.
Do not assume CoworkHow or a free Claude plan unlocks FactSet, MSCI, Capital IQ, LSEG, or similar feeds.
Human review / not financial advice
Anthropic’s install docs include a direct caution: AI-generated financial analysis should always be reviewed by a qualified professional before being used in decision-making.
On CoworkHow we add the operational version of that rule:
- Treat models, IC memos, comps, and rebalancing suggestions as drafts.
- Keep publishing, trading, wiring money, and client delivery under human approval.
- Scope connectors and folders narrowly; see the security model.
