Claude Cowork on Web and Mobile

Cowork is broadest on Claude Desktop (macOS and Windows). Web and mobile access exists in beta with plan rollouts; phone-to-desktop handoff uses Dispatch when an awake computer is running Desktop.

This hub ties together guidance already published on CoworkHow. It does not invent new platforms or claim feature parity across every surface.

Nuances that matter

  • Cloud-default vs laptop-closed: Work that only needs remote tools and account files can continue without keeping the laptop awake. Steps that need local folders or desktop apps still require Claude Desktop open and connected.
  • Dispatch is not a remote desktop: You get results and approval prompts, not a live screen share of the machine.
  • Claude Code Remote Control (mentioned on Anthropic’s download page for coding CLI handoff) is a separate Claude Code path—not the same as Cowork Dispatch. Prefer Channels / Code docs when the intent is Claude Code.
  • Plan access changes: Re-check pricing and Claude Help before promising web/mobile Cowork to a whole org.

Safer first path

  1. Install Desktop from the official download via our download hub.
  2. Run a low-risk task from Getting Started.
  3. Only then enable Dispatch or Computer Use if you need them—and scope permissions first.
